First Lady Melania Trump led the second meeting of the White House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence Education this week, uniting Cabinet officials and industry partners at the White House to accelerate the rollout of AI teaching in schools across the United States. Calling artificial intelligence the single largest growth category of the Trump era, Mrs Trump urged responsible guidance to ensure all children are equipped for an AI-driven economy.
The task force reviewed progress since President Trump’s executive order in April, with senior officials confirming that more than 135 private sector partners have now pledged to support classroom technology. Education leaders outlined plans to accelerate pilot programmes, strengthen teacher training, and expand public-private partnerships, aiming to guarantee that all students have access to AI learning tools.
Mrs Trump linked the AI education drive to her wider BE BEST initiative, highlighting its role in supporting the TAKE IT DOWN Act and promoting the new Presidential AI Challenge for K-12 students, launched in August. We are committed to innovation in education and to supporting the next generation of American leaders, she said.
Officials agreed to fast-track pilot projects and expand partnerships nationwide, as the administration signals its determination to make AI skills a core part of American schooling.
