Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, delivered a defiant message at the site of the terrorist attack at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem today, saying Israel is waging “an intense war against terrorism on several fronts.” Addressing the nation following the latest deadly assault, Netanyahu extended condolences to the families of those killed and wished a swift recovery to the wounded.
At least six people were killed in Jerusalem when a gunman opened fire. The dead included a Spanish national. This was the deadliest attack in Jerusalem since 2023, when seven people were killed in an attack on a synagogue.
Standing at the scene, Netanyahu acknowledged Israel’s “major successes against the terrorist regimes and terrorist organizations,” but cautioned that the conflict is ongoing, both in the Gaza Strip and in Jerusalem. He reiterated Israel’s intention to “destroy Hamas as we have promised and release our hostages, all of our hostages,” while noting that attacks have continued elsewhere, including in Judea and Samaria.
Netanyahu revealed that Israeli security forces - the Shin Bet, Israeli Defence Force, and Israel Police - have thwarted hundreds of terrorist attacks this year, though the latest incident could not be prevented. He announced that a manhunt was underway, with villages from which the attackers originated being cordoned off, and promised that anyone who aided the perpetrators would be apprehended and face “even stronger steps.”
Underscoring his resolve, Netanyahu insisted, “These murders and attacks, in all sectors, will not weaken us. They will only increase our determination to complete the mission we have taken upon ourselves, in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, and everywhere.” He also linked the fight to wider regional threats, vowing to intensify operations against groups backed by Iran and other adversaries, and asserting that Israel “will achieve all of our objectives.”
