Democratic Alliance (DA) mayoral candidate Retief Odendaal has outlined the party’s plan to get Nelson Mandela Bay “working again” ahead of the 2026 local government elections.
The programme, presented on Monday 6 October, centres on good governance, improved service delivery, and growing the local economy to create jobs.
The announcement was streamed live at 09h45 on the DA’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
Analysts say the DA has a realistic chance to win the beleaguered city in polls set for late 2026 or early 2027.
