Energy Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has announced South Africa’s largest infrastructure investment yet — a R2.23 trillion programme to add over 100 000 MW of generation capacity by 2042. Coal’s share of power will fall sharply, while gas, nuclear and renewables expand. The minister said the plan will end load-shedding and open the grid to private producers.
