Waymo will launch a robotaxi service in London in 2026, its first in Europe, using autonomous Jaguar iPACEs with UK regulatory approval.

Waymo, a company which develops and operates fully autonomous driving technology, plans to launch a commercial robotaxi service in London in 2026, marking its first European expansion and second city outside the United States after Tokyo.

The company’s all-electric Jaguar iPACE vehicles, equipped with Waymo’s self-driving technology, will begin operating on London roads in the coming weeks with human safety drivers. Fully driverless testing and public access will follow once approved by British regulators.

The expansion builds on Waymo’s growing presence across American cities such as Austin, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. If successful, London could become a model for how autonomous ride-hailing integrates into dense European cities.
