Donald Trump’s approval has deteriorated across headline issues, with his overall net rating and topic-specific scores falling in a YouGov survey conducted in mid-September. The poll found 39% approval and 57% disapproval, placing his net approval at –18, the weakest result of his second term.
The same survey shows more Americans now disapprove than approve of Trump’s handling of crime, immigration, the economy, and inflation. Net approval on crime stands at –7, immigration –8, jobs and the economy –22, and inflation and prices –34. YouGov notes these are recorded new second-term lows on crime, the economy, and inflation.
The data contrasts with Trump’s first term, when views of his handling of the economy were often net positive.
