The Common Sense betting pool expects John Steenhuisen to remain DA leader, with SRF data showing strong voter support.

The betting pool at The Common Sense’s Political Desk has its money on John Steenhuisen remaining DA leader.
The DA picks new leaders in April of 2026.
Data from the Social Research Foundation (SRF) shows that DA voters would overwhelmingly support John Steenhuisen as leader of the party.
Earlier this year the SRF put the statement to voters that Steenhuisen should quit as DA leader, as he was too weak to lead the party effectively.
However, DA voters rallied for Steenhuisen with 76% rejecting that idea.
