The Freedom Front Plus says the global reaction to the assassination of US conservative activist Charlie Kirk reflects a wider sense that the killing was an attack on conservative values and norms. In a statement by chief whip Dr Corné Mulder, the party said years of “liberal and woke” dominance had targeted principles rooted in the Christian faith, praising Kirk for “fearlessly defending his principles in public debate.”

Listing values it said it shares with Kirk, including respect for tradition and institutions, individual responsibility, limited government, a free-market economy, federalism and decentralisation, the VF Plus offered condolences to Kirk’s family and urged South Africans to promote “peaceful and respectful dialogue” grounded in freedom, responsibility and stability.
