Islamic terrorists have slaughtered more than ten people and injured scores of others during an attack on a Jewish festival on a beach in Australia. More than ten people, including one gunman, were killed in a shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach while a Hanukkah event was under way, in what sources who spoke to The Common Sense say is being investigated as an Islamic terror attack.

New South Wales Police confirmed that a second suspected gunman is in critical condition. Sources further told The Common Sense that the home of one of the attackers is being raided and that one of the attackers had been on the radar of Australian security services, though this has not been publicly confirmed by police.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing more than a dozen people lying on the ground and described scenes of panic as beachgoers ran from gunfire and sirens. Videos posted on social media showed crowds scattering in shock.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese released a written statement on X expressing condolences and urging the public to follow police instructions. “The scenes in Bondi are shocking and distressing. Police and emergency responders are on the ground working to save lives. My thoughts are with every person affected,” wrote Albanese. He added that further updates would follow as more information is confirmed.

Sources who spoke to The Common Sense said that under Albanese Australian authorities had become tolerant of anti-semitic protests on Australian streets and of activism that sought to target Jews. Australia had also taken a very hostile stance toward Israel which cultivated a climate of opinion in which Australian Jews were particularly vulnerable to attack.

Police issued an alert shortly after 7.30 PM local time advising people to take shelter or avoid the area. Around 2 000 people had gathered for the Hanukkah celebration.

Footage circulated online appeared to show officers detaining two suspects on a bridge after earlier images captured the pair firing what looked like long-guns from the structure. Eyewitness accounts suggest more than fifty shots were fired at people and vehicles.
