Former Crime Intelligence Officer Jailed for Helping ANC Councillor Evade Arrest

A former Crime Intelligence officer has been sentenced to three years in prison for defeating the administration of justice after helping former ANC councillor Mthokozisi Nojiyeza evade arrest on a murder charge in 2018.

The court heard the plan was coordinated with an attorney and aimed at keeping Nojiyeza from the Political Killings Task Team. He was later found hiding in a vehicle at Durban Central police station.
