Reconstruction of Parliament is set for completion in December 2026, with total costs reaching R4.6bn following the devastating 2022 fire. Secretary to Parliament Xolile George confirmed the timeline, saying major structural and restoration work is nearing its final phase.

Officials say the refurbished complex will once again host full parliamentary sittings, including the State of the Nation Address, marking the end of a lengthy and costly rebuilding process.
