Geordin Hill-Lewis is set to announce his campaign for the leadership of the Democratic Alliance (DA) today at 10:00 AM.
In an exclusive interview with The Common Sense last week, Hill-Lewis discussed his vision for the future of South Africa, focusing on pragmatic economic policies, the importance of liberal democracy, and the need for good governance. He noted that South Africa’s economic future hinges on policies that foster job creation, reduce state overreach, and prioritise individual rights. As Hill-Lewis explained, "Our economy needs a market-driven approach, where job creation is prioritised, and the state steps back from unnecessary interference."
In that interview, Hill-Lewis emphasised his commitment to revitalising the DA by promoting policies that directly address the country's challenges and tackle unemployment and poverty. "It's time to rebuild trust with voters by focusing on real solutions to poverty, solutions that include growing the economy and creating jobs that can provide a better life for all South Africans," Hill-Lewis said.
