Respondents were asked whether each party was performing very well, quite well, quite poorly, or very poorly in the GNU.

In the results below, performing well combines those who said very well or quite well. Performing poorly combines those who said quite poorly or very poorly.

Among all voters, 67% said the DA was performing well, while 20% said it was performing poorly. For the FF+, 37% said it was performing well, while 24% said it was performing poorly.

Among black respondents, 61% said the DA was performing well, compared with 23% who said it was performing poorly. For the FF+, 30% said it was performing well, while 29% said it was performing poorly.

Among white respondents, both parties were rated positively. 76% said the DA was performing well, while 20% said it was performing poorly. For the FF+, 69% said it was performing well, while 16% said it was performing poorly.

The finding suggests that the DA has built a stronger positive image in the GNU across the electorate than the FF+. The FF+ performs well among white voters, but its ratings are weaker among all voters and almost evenly split among black respondents.

These results were gathered in late February and early March, meaning they do not yet reflect the court finding against Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen over the FMD outbreak or the latest attack by Geordin Hill-Lewis and Ryan Coetzee on the FF+.
