Two City of Cape Town law enforcement officers have been granted bail after appearing in court on charges including extortion, kidnapping, robbery, and theft. The alleged offences are linked to incidents involving foreign-owned spaza shops.

The officers, who have been suspended, were released on strict conditions just days before Christmas. The case has been postponed to early 2026 for further proceedings.
