Bangladesh authorities have seized nearly 10kg of gold from two bank lockers belonging to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, valued at approximately $1.3 million. The gold was recovered during an investigation into allegations of corruption and tax evasion.

The lockers were frozen in September as part of a wider probe into gifts received while in office. Authorities are now examining whether the gold was declared for tax purposes.
