South Africa’s Dewald Brevis has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against Pakistan after suffering a low-grade shoulder strain in the third T20I in Lahore on Saturday. The 22-year-old will remain with the squad for rehabilitation ahead of South Africa’s tour to India later this month. His absence adds to the team’s injury woes, with Kwena Maphaka and Anrich Nortje already sidelined, while several senior players have been rested. Matthew Breetzke will captain the ODI side, with Quinton de Kock returning to 50-over cricket. The series begins today in Faisalabad.
