The City of Cape Town has taken the next step toward selling its majority stake in the Cape Town International Convention Centre, beginning a process to test market interest. The stake is valued at about R885m.

City officials say the venue will remain a convention centre and the land will stay city-owned, with proceeds earmarked for infrastructure and service delivery.
