Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala, who is facing multiple criminal charges, testified before a parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee, claiming he paid former police minister Bheki Cele R500 000 to stop alleged harassment by the police. Matlala also recounted a raid by the Political Killings Task Team at his home, during which rifles were reportedly pointed at his family. The committee is investigating claims of corruption involving Matlala’s business dealings.
