A News24 investigation reports that Tsakane Matlala, wife of businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, secured an R3.7m City of Ekurhuleni contract through a company she had controlled for only a short period.

The report says the firm shifted from Mokoko Grill to Buena Vista Learning Academy in July 2023 ahead of the bid deadline. Ekurhuleni’s award register lists Buena Vista Learning Academy on the PS HR 13-2023 skills development provider panel running to 30 June 2026.
