Residents in East Lynne and Jan Niemand Park say they have faced repeated electricity outages since Boxing Day after a fire at the Koedoespoort Substation damaged key equipment.

The City of Tshwane says teams and a private contractor are working to trace and fix multiple cable faults, but further trips have delayed restoration. Communities have also criticised broader service delivery in the area.
