EFF supporters converged in East London ahead of Julius Malema’s pre-sentencing proceedings at the East London Magistrate’s Court, with reports of buses bringing supporters into the city and some roads cordoned off near the court.

Malema was convicted over a 2018 incident in Mdantsane in which he was filmed firing a rifle. The pre-sentencing stage is expected to hear arguments on an appropriate penalty.
