The Special Investigating Unit says it obtained a Special Tribunal preservation order to freeze a Bendor property in Polokwane and a vehicle linked to an Eskom surveyor and project manager, after an alleged kickback scheme tied to a R54 million tender.

The SIU alleges about R8 million was paid by companies allegedly favoured in the tender, with some money used for personal expenses including swimming pool-related costs at the property. A separate report says more than R3.6 million flowed from Eskom service providers and was used for the property and payments to family members.
