Four suspects were killed in a shootout with KwaZulu-Natal police at Adam’s Mission in the KwaMakhutha policing precinct south of Durban on Thursday night. Police said officers spotted the group on Sheleni Road, attempted to stop them using sirens, and came under fire.

Police said the suspects were wanted for serious violent crimes linked to Umbumbulu and nearby areas. One suspect reportedly fled the scene and a manhunt is under way. Firearms recovered at the scene will be sent for ballistic testing as the investigation continues.
