In a statement, South Africa’s GNU leaders have celebrated the government securing a primary budget surplus (a surplus before interest spending). On the 12th of November, the finance minister will present the mini-budget. Economists expect a strong statement of confidence from the finance minister, given the surplus, a strengthening currency and declining global interest rates.
