Johannesburg officials raided a hijacked mansion on Grosvenor Road in Bryanston on Thursday and arrested a suspect believed to have run the site as an illegal rental operation.

The city says more than 70 families were living there unlawfully, with illegal electricity and water connections identified and disconnected. City Manager Floyd Brink says further properties in the area are under investigation.
