French prosecutors say suspects have been arrested in the Louvre jewel heist, including one detained at Charles de Gaulle Airport as he prepared to leave France. Thieves using a lifting platform smashed an upstairs window and, in under seven minutes, stole eight Napoleonic era pieces valued at about €88 million.

The haul includes jewels linked to Queens Marie Amélie and Hortense and Empresses Marie Louise and Eugénie. Empress Eugénie’s emerald set crown was later found outside the museum, damaged but recoverable. Prosecutors said arrests followed coordinated raids across Paris. About 100 investigators are pursuing the remaining culprits and missing pieces.
