French prosecutors have arrested two men, aged 38 and 39, and two women, aged 31 and 40, in connection with the October jewel heist at the Louvre Museum in Paris. All four are from the Paris region. Four people had already arrested and placed under formal investigation earlier, now bringing the total number of suspects detained or formally investigated to eight.

The gang is accused of stealing jewels worth about $102 million, including an emerald and diamond necklace given by Napoleon to Empress Marie Louise and a tiara linked to Empress Eugenie. The pieces remain missing and the robbery has triggered a review of security at the world-famous museum.
