The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial resumed in the High Court in Pretoria today, with all five accused back in the dock as proceedings continued in the long-running case. Broadcasters carried the session live as the court returned to evidence and procedural arguments.

The latest phase follows disputes over key statements, including claims by Absolom Zungu, father of State witness Constable Sizwe Zungu, that police fabricated evidence attributed to him. Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng has restricted how the state may use contested confessions, while National Prosecuting Authority head, Shamila Batohi, has criticised earlier investigative failures for complicating the case.
