A security officer was found shot dead in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Hilux on the N1 North in Pretoria late Monday afternoon. Police and paramedics responded after 17h30, opened a murder case, and began collecting roadside and dashcam footage to trace the vehicle’s prior movements.

Independent incident reports and community safety groups noted multiple shots fired and an active crime scene during peak traffic. Investigators are appealing for witnesses who were near the N1 North in the late afternoon. No arrests have been announced.
