Seven people were killed in a head on crash on the N4 toll road between Machadodorp and Belfast in Mpumalanga early on Saturday, with the collision reported at around 01h00.

One person survived with serious injuries and was taken to hospital in Belfast. Police are investigating the circumstances, with reports indicating a culpable homicide case has been opened.
