Police in Limpopo have arrested three suspects for the murder of a South African National Defence Force corporal who was ambushed and shot dead while walking to work in Kurhula Village near Phalaborwa.

The suspects include the soldier’s 41-year-old wife, her 45-year-old alleged boyfriend, and a 52-year-old suspected hitman. Police say the wife and boyfriend conspired to have him killed and hired the gunman, who was caught with an unlicensed firearm believed to have been used in the murder. All three will appear in the Lulekani Magistrates Court.
