Three suspected gunmen were shot dead during a police operation in Emanguzi, KwaZulu Natal, after officers moved in to arrest a group linked to multiple murder cases. Police say the men opened fire as officers approached, triggering a brief but intense shootout.

Four suspects were wounded, and one later died in hospital. Officers recovered two firearms, including a police-issued weapon reported lost years earlier. Detectives are investigating whether the group is tied to other violent crimes in the region.
