US President Donald Trump said the United States would take Greenland "one way or the other", reviving his push for control of the Danish territory and arguing it is vital for US security in the Arctic.

Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called the row a "decisive moment", while Greenland’s party leaders said they reject any takeover and that Greenland’s future must be decided by Greenlanders.
