Two Mozambican nationals have been arrested in Mamelodi East after police recovered an SAPS-issued 9mm pistol and an R5 rifle linked to the murder of two Ivory Park officers. The officers were ambushed and killed during patrols last week, prompting an intensive search for their stolen service weapons.

Police say the recovered firearms were positively identified as belonging to the slain officers, though a second missing pistol is still unaccounted for. The suspects are expected to face charges related to murder, possession of unlicensed firearms, and defeating the ends of justice as the manhunt for additional suspects continues.
