Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia visited Westbury and Reiger Park in Gauteng over the weekend in response to a surge in gang violence and recent shootings. The visit included meetings with local stakeholders and security forces as authorities ramped up Anti-Gang Unit operations in both communities.

Several suspects have been arrested in connection with the latest shootings, and court appearances took place last week. The Police Ministry says Cachalia’s visit is part of a series of engagements to address violent crime hotspots across Gauteng.
