Five suspects linked to the Bekkersdal tavern shooting appeared in the Westonaria Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, after West Rand operations led to multiple arrests and the seizure of firearms.

Police say ballistics tests are under way and an identity parade is still outstanding. The accused face charges including possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, and the case was postponed to 5 January 2026.
