Cape Town Neighbours Clash Over Blocked Driveway

A Cape Town couple has won a court battle after accusing their neighbours of repeatedly blocking a shared Higgovale driveway despite having the legal right to use it, which gace them access to their garage. CCTV footage showed vehicles obstructing the route even while the matter was before the Western Cape High Court.

Acting Judge D Cooke ruled the neighbours must stop hindering access and affirmed the couple’s right to enter and exit in one smooth movement. The court said parking is still permitted, but only if it does not obstruct access, stressing that neighbours should act reasonably.
