Attempted murder accused businessman Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala has been moved from Kgosi Mampuru II in Pretoria to the eBongweni super maximum prison in Kokstad, KwaZulu Natal, the Department of Correctional Services confirmed.

DCS spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said the transfer happened on 21 December 2025. News reports say it comes ahead of a January court appearance, with officials giving no further detail on the security rationale.
