A Florida restaurant routine turned into a rescue after a 78-year-old Air Force veteran stopped showing up for his daily gumbo order. Staff grew worried when he missed multiple visits and did not answer calls.

The chef went to his apartment and found him collapsed and badly dehydrated, then called for medical help. After weeks of recovery, the restaurant kept visiting him and later helped him move closer.
