The Eastern Cape High Court in Mthatha found SAPS liable for damages after a Grade 10 learner was shot during a school protest at Madala Senior Secondary School in 2019.
The learner sued the Minister of Police after being wounded when officers intervened during unrest linked to complaints about poor school infrastructure. The amount of damages will be determined later.
