The Democratic Alliance (DA) will today unveil what it calls: “important new political developments” at a midday briefing in Cape Town.

The briefing, scheduled for 12:00 pm at the Sun Square Hotel in Mill Street, Gardens, will be led by Helen Zille, the party’s Federal Council Chairperson, and Tertuis Simmers, the DA’s Western Cape Leader.

While the DA has not revealed further details, the party says the announcement will have “significant implications” for the political landscape ahead of the 2026 local government elections.
