At least 40 people were killed when a drone strike hit a funeral in al-Luweib village, near the army-held city of el-Obeid in Sudan’s North Kordofan state. Officials blamed the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which have not commented. The attack comes amid escalating violence after the RSF seized nearby towns, with reports of mass killings and famine in areas under its control. The UN and International Criminal Court have warned that RSF actions may amount to war crimes. UN chief António Guterres urged both sides to halt the fighting, as Sudan’s civil war continues to devastate the country.
