The Department of Basic Education has hired experts from Finland to help revise the post provisioning norms, the formula that allocates teaching posts across public schools.

The revision aims to update how educators are distributed between schools and to address staffing imbalances that provinces and unions say leave some schools short of teachers while others are better resourced.
