Families gathered in grief after 12 schoolchildren died in a scholar transport crash near Vanderbijlpark. The 22-year-old driver has been arrested, with reporting saying officials believe he lacked a valid Professional Driving Permit at the time.

The driver is expected to face 12 counts of culpable homicide, plus reckless and negligent driving, and is due to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court within 48 hours of the arrest.
