High Court Orders SAPS to Pay R644m for Forensic Software

The Gauteng High Court has ordered the South African Police Service to pay R644 million to a private firm for forensic software used to manage and track criminal evidence. The ruling follows a long-running contractual dispute.

The court found SAPS had failed to honour payment obligations, raising renewed concerns about funding, governance, and the stability of key systems within the criminal justice process.
