The murder trial of former world high jump champion Jacques Freitag was postponed in the Gauteng High Court after one of the accused said he could not afford legal representation.

Accused Rudie Lubbe has applied for state funded lawyers, prompting the court to order an assessment by Legal Aid South Africa. The matter will resume once his eligibility is determined.
