A murder investigation has been opened after the burnt body of an infant was found in bushes near the braai area at Brighton Beach on the Bluff, south of Durban. Paramedics declared the child dead at the scene.

Police said the circumstances remain unclear and urged anyone with information to contact SAPS as detectives pursue leads.
