Two Climbers Dead After Fall from New Zealand's Mount Cook

Two climbers have tragically died after falling from New Zealand’s highest peak, Mount Cook. A US national and a highly respected New Zealand mountain guide were roped together when they slipped from a ridge and plunged about 460 meters. Two other climbers were rescued uninjured. The deaths occurred during a summit attempt late Monday, and the case is now under investigation.
