Britain has appointed Dr Christian Turner as its next ambassador to the United States, the Foreign Office confirmed on 18 December 2025. Turner is the UK’s UN envoy and now awaits US agreement.

Turner replaces Peter Mandelson, fired in September after emails revealed undisclosed links to Jeffrey Epstein. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Turner will strengthen UK-US security ties.
