The US Senate approved a short-term funding bill late Monday by a 60-40 margin, averting a looming federal government shutdown after six weeks. The measure finances agencies through late January 2026 and now moves to the House for final approval.

No committee hearings are scheduled today as lawmakers return to constituent duties for Veterans Day. The bill passed with some Democrats joining Republicans and one GOP member voting no.
